Feyenoord wants to connect with the top of the Netherlands through investors. The Rotterdammers engaged investment bank Lazard to guide this process. Bee Veronica Inside Chris Woerts had joined to discuss the potential injection for Feyenoord.
According to Chris Woerts, there are more interested parties than a year ago: “At first only Americans were interested, but now also one Dutch consortium. Of which Rotterdammers who want to keep the club in Dutch hands. That should be completed within a few months. For 49% 130 million euros of the shares must be invested. Of this, approximately 30 million will go back to the Friends of Feyenoord. ” Chris Woerts knows that there are still hooks and eyes to the investment: “A catch, if the Friends do not agree, then they have to wait a year and a half.” According to Chris Woerts, the approach is that the capital injection can take Feyenoord to a higher level and not that the investor will make money from the club purely and solely. It is not known exactly which Rotterdam party is in the picture as an investor.
