Hello and welcome to our special edition of “Behind the Scenes” on the set of “Rote Rosen”. Today, we have with us two guests who have been part of the show for several years now - Jerry Kwarteng and Lara Isabelle Rentinck. Thank you both for joining us.
Firstly, Jerry, can you tell us how it feels to have played such a significant role in the series for six years and what made you decide to leave “Rote Rosen”?
Jerry Kwarteng: Well, it’s been an amazing journey for me and the character of Dr. Hendrik Althaus has been a great experience. I think the decision to leave was mainly due to the need for change and personal growth. After six years, I felt that it was time to explore new opportunities and challenge myself in different roles. Additionally, the storyline for my character had reached a natural conclusion, and it felt like the right time to step aside and let new actors bring fresh energy to the show.

Lara Isabelle Rentinck: Thank you, I appreciate that. I knew it would be a difficult decision for fans, so I wanted to be honest with them about it. I took to social media to announce my departure and share my gratitude for their support throughout the years. I will miss Amelie too, but I think it’s important to move on and explore other projects. It’s bittersweet, but I’m excited for the future.
The show has a unique concept where it revolves around different characters each season. How do you think this approach has contributed to keeping the show fresh and engaging for viewers?
Jerry Kwarteng: Absolutely. The constant change in characters and stories keeps things interesting and prevents the show from becoming stale. It offers us as actors the chance to showcase our range and flexibility. Moreover, as Lara Isabelle mentioned, viewers get attached to the characters and seeing new faces allows them to connect with the show in a different way.
Lara Isabelle Rentinck: Yes, it’s like meeting new friends every season. We all bring our unique pers
