No ball rolls anymore, trainings are stopped and games canceled – the corona crisis is in full swing. Now it shows that the virus also hits FCB with full force, economically. Red-blue must apply for short-time work.
Professionals not yet affected

The application for short-time work is not about the professional players, but about the employees of all departments of the office. So FCB announces those people who are not among the top earners in football.
The wages of professional footballers are not yet affected by the savings measure, since short-time work on fixed-term contracts is not yet possible.
Solidarity at FCB
The FCB is aware that the introduction of short-time work is drastic for some employees, but the decision had to be made with a heavy heart, the club management said. CEO Roland Heri also waived his wages – because in such a time, one should act in solidarity, he says.
Smaller clubs like Thun am Abgrund
Smaller clubs cannot act as the FCB is doing now. Surviving a crisis with such measures is almost impossible, especially for clubs like FC Thun. In order to still have any chance of a future, operations at the Bernese Oberländer were brought to a minimum and the office and the stadium were closed.
