“Recognize problems early enough”

“The actions carried out by the service club make it possible to support various actions, including the fight against illiteracy, with this check for the benefit of the CCAS”, indicated Nelly Moreau.

In the presence of Évelyne Lagoutte and Blandine Raynaud, administrators of the Acef, Jacky Duperche, for her part, recalled that for twelve consecutive years, the Acef Val de France has amplified the actions of the Rotary Club of Chartres, within the framework of a partnership agreement with Rotary. Acef has thus been able to mobilize more than €62,000 to support and support actions in the public interest carried out in partnership with the Rotary Club of Chartres, including this effective operation, “Key boost”, which is part of the educational success, through the fight against illiteracy and early school leaving.

After thanking the donors, Élisabeth Fromont, accompanied by Roland Le Traon, director of social action at the CCAS, recalled that the action to prevent illiteracy, carried out by the State and the City of Chartres, included six “Coup de Pouce” clubs, which help “help children, by detecting their difficulties early enough in learning to read, maths or language. The Helping Hands clubs offer fun activities in small groups, in conjunction with parents. »

Some 35 pupils from kindergarten to CE1, from the Henri IV, Émile-Zola and Maurice-Carême schools, take part.
