With a solid team performance, HC Empor Rostock fought for their third win of the season on matchday 13 and scored 6:20 points. HCE transition coach Tristan Staat reacted to the Großwallstadt guests’ initial 3-goal lead with a player from the second circle, who did not fail to have an effect. Rostock scored four goals in a row and came back from the deficit. With a 5:0 run by the home side at halftime, they went into the break with a lead of 15:12. In the second half, Rostock gradually increased their lead. In the 48th minute, the Baltic Sea citizens had already gone away with eight goals (26:18). Towards the end, TV Großwallstadt was able to make a cosmetic work of the result, so that both teams separated at 29:24.
For Rostock the victory meant two important points to keep pace with the non-relegation places. HSG Konstanz is one point ahead of 18th in the table. 15th or 16th place is currently held by VfL Eintracht Hagen and HC Elbflorenz, both with eight points. Next Friday, with the game against HSG Konstanz, the HCE can look forward not only to the duel against the direct neighbors (promotion and relegation table), but also to the longest away game of the season.
