Rostock University Medical Center has suspended a study on the corona vaccine from the pharmaceutical company Johnson & Johnson. Because the extradition to Europe has been stopped, the researchers can no longer work.
Rostock University Medical Center has to interrupt a study on the corona vaccine from the US pharmaceutical company Johnson & Johnson. The company has stopped shipping its active ingredient to Europe. One of the purposes of the study is to check how long the vaccine works. That is why 240 test persons in Germany were vaccinated twice last September. A further 50 subjects were now available for a second study. “The matter is on hold,” said Professor Emil Reisinger to NDR 1 Radio MV. The vaccine is also being scientifically tested in Hamburg and Berlin.
Blood clots in six women
In the United States, 6.8 million people have already been vaccinated with the Johnson & Johnson serum. Blood clots subsequently developed in six women. Therefore, the group temporarily stopped the delivery of 55 million vaccine doses to Europe. The European Medicines Agency (EMA) wants to give an opinion on possible thromboses from the corona vaccine from Johnson & Johnson in the coming week.
