Negotiations have begun between Rostech and Daimler for the purchase of shares in KamAZ, which are owned by the German concern. This is a significant share of 15%. This was stated by the head of the state corporation Sergei Chemezov.
Daimler Truck has decided to close down in Russia, putting the joint venture with KamAZ in a very difficult position. As a result, Daimler Truck wanted to sell its stake in KamAZ as soon as possible.
But at the same time, only Russian corporations can buy it, as foreign companies fear sanctions. KamAZ has already prepared an action plan to overcome the crisis.
More cars with Euro-5 engines will be temporarily off the assembly line, and a new, fully localized 500-horsepower engine will appear by the end of the year. The production of K5 generation trucks will also be localized.
