Rosstandart revealed the characteristics of the new armored Audi

Although the official premiere of the armored Audi A8 is yet to come, the main characteristics of the Audi A8L D5 Security are known thanks to the Russian regulatory authority. The protected sedan will receive a 4.0-liter “biturbo eight” with a capacity of 571 horsepower (800 Nm), familiar from the new generation S8. This probably means that Audi will refuse the 6.3-liter 500-horsepower W12 and the twelve-cylinder engine will remain only on Bentley models.

Compared to the regular Audi A8L with a V8 4.0 engine, the weight of the armored sedan is 1700 kilograms higher. Protection in the VR9 class means that the novelty will be able to protect passengers from being fired by 7.62 caliber bullets with a heat-strengthened core.
