Rossini Opera Festival 2023: Eduardo and Cristina Performance with Jader Bignamini

Pesaro, 11 August 2023 – A red carpet in style today accompanied the first evening of the Rossini Opera Festival (here the program) at the Vitrifrigo Arena, and which saw the first modern performance of Eduardo and Cristinathe 39th opera in Rossini’s operatic catalogue, in the critical edition of the Rossini Foundation and with Jader Bignamini conducting the Rai National Symphony Orchestra and the Ventidio Basso Theater Choir.

Elegance and sophistication were the watchwords of the evening which saw guests on the red carpet: the senator for life Liliana Segre; Gianni Letta, president of the Rossini Foundation; the professor Robert Burioni; the quaestor of Pesaro and Urbino Raphael Clement; the prefect of Pesaro and Urbino Emanuela Saverio Greco; Christian Della Chiara at the top of the ROF; the president of the Rossini Conservatory Salvatore Giordano; Mayor Matthew Ricci; the deputy mayor Daniel Wicker; the regional councilor Mirco Carloni; the regional councilor Micaela Vitri; the ambassador George Girelli; the director Rosetta Cucchi; Paola Tittarelli; Luca Pieri, President of Aspes.

In the cast of the first evening on stage; Aeneas Scala (Carlo), Anastasia Bartoli (Cristina), Daniel Barcelona (Eduardo), Grigory Shkarupa (James) e Matthew Rome (Atlei).

The show was entirely entrusted to Stefano Poda (direction, sets, costumes, lights and choreography), while the three replicas will be held on Monday 14, Thursday 17 and Sunday 20 August.
