Testing, developed by scientists of the Central Research Institute of Epidemiology and allowing to detect coronavirus infection in the early stages, will be used at the Center for Molecular Diagnostics of Rospotrebnadzor. “The test system of the Central Research Institute of Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Welfare expands the arsenal of diagnostic tools for detecting coronavirus infection: it allows you to detect infection even in the early stages of the disease, as well as in people with unexpressed symptoms,” the report said.
It is noted that from April 6, the Center for Molecular Diagnostics of Rospotrebnadzor begins research on coronavirus on a commercial basis, thereby providing the opportunity to take the test at will, and not for medical reasons.
“In order to ensure safety and in accordance with the order of the Government of the Russian Federation to comply with the self-isolation regime, the biomaterial is taken at home in an almost non-contact way. A specialist of the on-site service of the Center for Molecular Diagnostics brings the diagnostic kit to the study customer, instructs how to take a swab from the oropharynx independently, and takes the container away with biomaterial for the study. The result is provided within one to two days by e-mail, “the report said.
The department said that the analysis is performed on a high-precision test system, which fully complies with all modern European requirements. Due to the high sensitivity and specificity of the test, false-negative and false-positive results are excluded, added the Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Welfare.
As of April 5, 5 389 cases of coronavirus infection were recorded in Russia, 355 people recovered. Most infections occur in Moscow (3,893). According to the federal operational headquarters at 13:00 Moscow time, 45 people died. Government launched a resource stopcoronavirus.rf to inform about the situation in the country.
