Rosewood Munich: Experience Luxury and Elegance in the Heart of Bavaria

The Rosewood Munich is now accepting reservations for stays beginning September 29th. It is the first German house of the Rosewood Hotels & Resorts Kollektionthe Group’s seventh in Europe and 31st hotel worldwide.

The hotel is located on Kardinal-Faulhaber-Strasse in the heart of the Bavarian capital and is housed in two historic buildings: the former headquarters of the Bayerische Staatsbank and the adjacent Palais Neuhaus-Preysing, a former noble residence. The house has 73 rooms and 59 suites, including five so-called “houses”, with exclusive amenities and offers. The CUVILLIÉS brasserie and the Montez bar provide culinary delights, while the Asaya Spa with six treatment rooms, indoor pool and fitness area provides relaxation and sport.

“We look forward to welcoming our guests to the Rosewood Munich this fall,” says Managing Director Roland Dürr. “The two magnificent buildings in the center provide the perfect setting to implement Rosewood’s philosophy of A Sense of Place. We want to make a valuable contribution to the rich culture and hospitality of this beautiful city and create unforgettable memories for our guests from near and far.”

Munich architecture firm Hilmer Sattler and London interior architecture and design firm Tara Bernerd & Partners worked closely together to bring the spirit of Rosewood to the Bavarian metropolis. They have made it their task to combine the historical past of the buildings in the baroque and rococo style with modernity and elegance. The two buildings and the inner courtyard have been restored, preserving the facades and structural elements such as the lobby and the historic staircase. The hotel lobby welcomes future guests under magnificent vaulted ceilings and frescoes.

Tara Bernerd & Partners combines high-quality materials such as velvet, tweet and leather for the interior and thus creates a design of simple luxury and simple elegance. They contrast the gray marble and wooden elements of the palace. “Rosewood Munich is our first project with Rosewood Hotels & Resorts and represents an important milestone for us. Our goal was to combine a sophisticated furnishing style with a contemporary interpretation of baroque architecture,” says Tara Bernerd, founder of Tara Bernerd & Partners “The hotel will create a very special meeting place where Munich and international guests can experience this diverse and cultivated city together.”
