One of the problems with the UAZ Profi truck is a voracious gasoline engine. But now two Russian companies at the same time, EVM and Spetsavtoengineering, have made the electric Pro! And that’s what happened.
ForEVM proudly calls the electric Profi “the first Russian electric truck”. But what about the various options for Gazelles and KAMAZ electric trucks? Well, ok: here they are, electro-Profi, they are also EVM Pro, in the industrial area of St. Petersburg, where the company’s laboratory is located. UAZ was chosen as the cheapest offer on the market, moreover it was easy to agree with Ulyanovsk on the supply of cars without an engine.
Now under the hood there is an electric motor of our own production: steel is also purchased at the Novolipetsk combine. The on-board electronics and software are also proprietary. The engine is connected to a standard UAZ gearbox (BAIC from China), stuck in second gear (wow!), Then there is the usual cardan and rear axle. Among the improvements: a new vacuum brake booster and electro-hydraulic power steering.
