Rosenheim – “We come from Bavaria, the land next to Germany” – after motorsport dates have recently been canceled and in some cases postponed in Bavaria and Germany, RGR driver Thomas Sobek and co-driver legend Siegi Schrankl have relocated this year’s season opener to northern Italy.
The press release in full:
At the invitation of the RALLY CLUB BARDOLINO, participation was implemented for the coming weekend. This year for the first time in three categories, starting in Bardolino / Lake Garda, through the famous vineyards of the south-eastern Veronese lakeshore, the fastest time will be driven.
Sobek / Schrankl start here for the first time with the newly acquired Mitsubishi EVO X, eligible to start in category N. The replacement of the previous year’s emergency vehicle took place after a thorough analysis for international competition approval according to the FIA World Association with future-oriented starting authorization. The vehicle was technically perfectly prepared and coordinated by Fahrzeugtechnik Ehrle for the event in accordance with the regulations. For the upcoming events, H2O Folientechnik will create a film design. The vehicles are transported to the events with transport trailers thanks to the support of tarpaulins and tents from Augsburg.
The RGR team is looking forward to the event that can take place with the current hygiene concept in the current corona pandemic. The big thanks and appreciation go to the RALLY CLUB BARDOLINO for holding such a motorsport event in these difficult times.
