“Daughter” of “Rosatom” will buy the Moscow data center for 24 billion rubles

CNews expects representatives of Atomdata Center and Rosatom to answer the question about the specific purposes of purchasing the data center.

Purchased object is already known

It is important that the tender for the purchase of the data center can be considered formal. Rosatom mentioned its plans to build data centers at CNews FORUM 2022 in November 2022. According to the presentation (available to CNews), Rosatom was supposed to put into operation the Moscow-2 data center in the South Administrative District, on Dorozhnaya Street. The project was originally intended as a purchase of a ready-made data center. The developer of the object was the Monarch company. In addition, the purchase is now carried out from a single supplier (his name is not mentioned in public documents). It follows from this that 23.8 billion rubles. is the final price of the future contract.

In this regard, we note that in December 2022, Interfax announced the start of construction of one of the largest metropolitan data centers on Dorozhnaya Street. Then it was also mentioned that the project would be completed in 2024 (the date and address are the same as those indicated in the terms of reference of the Atomdata Center).

Data center characteristics

On the land plot, according to the terms of a formal tender, a data center building with an area of at least 18 thousand square meters should be placed. m. The site must be equipped with the engineering infrastructure of the data center to accommodate the “hardware” for 3 thousand racks with a total capacity of 15 MW or 4 thousand – for 28 MW.

The technological zone should consist of an entrance and an unloading zone, equipment rooms, a room with an engineering infrastructure and for the placement of electrical equipment. It should also include technical and storage facilities. In addition, there should be an administrative building on the site. The site itself must be guarded using technical means of perimeter protection control, video surveillance, access control systems, etc.

The object should be located within the Moscow Ring Road in (South-Eastern or Southern administrative districts of the capital, SEAD and SAD), no more than 2 km from the nearest metro station, according to the TOR, which follows the formal style of this tender.

According to the document, the data center should accommodate up to 3.6 thousand rack spaces in four computer rooms. The power supply scheme of the facility must comply with the Tier IV reliability level.

What data centers does Rosatom have?

Atomdata Center acts as an integrator of the infrastructure of commercial data centers of the Rosenergoatom concern. The company owns and operates three commercial data centers: the Xelent data center in St. Petersburg, the Kalininsky data center in the Tver region, and the StoreData data center in Moscow.

In December 2022, Rosatom launched the construction of the Innopolis megadata center in Tatarstan.
