Rosario Vera Peñaloza received gold books in tribute to her teaching work | News | Buenos Aires City

Rosario Vera Peñaloza (1873-1950) took her teaching and her work to different regions of Argentina and Latin American countries. In all the towns he visited, he received recognition from his teaching colleagues and in some in gratitude they gave him a gold book.

The golden book is a compendium of signatures that is awarded in honor of a personality. The Register of signatures series that can be accessed on the website of the Ministry of Education is made up of copies with signatures of teachers from Tucumán (1940), Córdoba (1940) and Santa Fe (1943) that they dedicated to Vera Peñaloza.

Part of this documentary series is the volume “Golden Jubilee” in which her teaching colleagues declared her a “Teacher of the country” delivered to Rosario on the occasion of her 50 years of tireless teaching work, in 1947. The book contains signatures, dedications and illustrations made by teachers from different regions.

Rosario’s family treasured the books until they were donated to the Ministry of Education, and the program Huellas de la Escuela digitized the documents for their preservation and for the entire community to have access to the writings that contribute to the historical memory and strengthen the cultural identity of the educational community.

Huellas de la Escuela makes these documents available to researchers, students and teachers allow to project new interpretations of an educational age.

«Tireless apostle, she goes where she is called, lavishing science, enthusiasm and faith; his mind is a torch of divine light that radiates happy sparkles everywhere ».
