A Rosario family that is walking through London (England), met this Friday with Bono, the legendary Irish musician, at the time vocalist of the rock group U2, and with The Edge (Dave Howell Evans), the band’s guitarist.
The moment aroused double joy for the Argentines when the singer took the cell phone of one of them and recorded a video singing “Don’t cry for me Argentina”, the song made famous by Madona in the movie Evita. Of yapa, she at the end she left a greeting.
“We can’t believe what happened to us!” Mariana Sarchi began by telling El Litoral.
“We are on vacation with my family, my husband and my children. Today is our last day in London and we went to visit a market, Camden Town. In a picturesque corner we stopped to take a photo of the four of us together and we asked a girl who was walking by if she could take our photo, ”said Rosario.
Mariana continued recounting what that moment was like: “From behind the girl who was Italian, Bono and The Edge, from U2, appear, and Bono tells her to also pose with us, that he was taking the photo. And she told him: ‘I’m not with them.’ Then he answers: ‘Well, we put ourselves in and you take us out with them.’ That’s what we were doing when people began to gather around and film. There, Bono thanks the girl, grabs my phone, puts it in selfie mode and starts filming. He asks us where we were from and he starts singing ‘Don’t cry for me, Argentina’ and at the end he sends a greeting to the country”.
“The two of them are cool, super normal, they were walking down the street, people stopped them, took photos and videos and continued on their way. Two common types touring the market like everyone else. Some total geniuses”, said Mariana about those minutes that will surely remain in the memory of the family.
