Rosanna Davison, the former Miss World and author, has been enjoying a serene and happy life “in a bubble.” Amid the ongoing pandemic, she has been focused on her family and her charity work, and now she’s lending her support to a new campaign by Ireland’s largest hospice care provider. The campaign invites people to buy a rose in honor of someone they love or miss, with all proceeds going towards supporting the charity’s vital work. In this article, we take a closer look at Rosanna’s life and what inspired her to get involved with this important cause.
Rosanna Davison, former Miss World and wife of Wes Quirke, has opened up about the challenges of raising three children under the age of four and coming to terms with her new identity as a mother. Davison had her daughter Sophia via a gestational surrogate in November 2019 and then naturally conceived twin boys, who were born just one year later. She has been in a “total bubble”, having had them so close together, and parenting three babies during a pandemic made it even more intense. Nevertheless, she says she absolutely loves being a mom.
Davison expressed how she was determined that having a child would not change her life or identity when Sophia was born, and to a certain extent, that happened. Still, when there are more than one baby, you do completely change, she noted. She said, “I’ve forgotten who I used to be and what I used to do at the weekends and what we did with our time before. And you just become a totally new version of yourself. But I really like the new me and the person I’ve become.”
As the one-year anniversary of her Ukrainian surrogate, Anastasiia Berezan’s, arrival in Ireland approaches, Davison says she is “proud” of how well Berezan has settled into Irish life with her daughter Mailana and her partner. Berezan managed to flee the occupied city of Kherson with her family last year and spent two months traveling from Ukraine through Poland and Germany before arriving in Ireland on April 24, 2020, where she was welcomed by Davison and her family. Anastasiia and her family have built up their independence in Ireland and are learning English while working full time.
Outside of family life, Davison is also an ambassador for Cystic Fibrosis Ireland and has been using her platform to promote causes such as 65 Roses Day, which aims to raise funds for CFI. Taking place on April 9th, the day requires €350,000 annually from public donations to support people with cystic fibrosis. Ireland has the highest rate of CF per capita in the world, and Davison feels that she is in a position to bring more attention to the cause.
In light of her busy schedule, Davison has been practicing self-care and recommends taking a moment to relax whenever possible. Additionally, she suggests getting eight hours of sleep and eating healthily to create a positive impact on one’s mental state. She also emphasized the importance of taking time out to nurture relationships, such as going out with a partner for a date night.
Overall, Rosanna Davison is embracing the challenges of motherhood, the joys of family, and the importance of caring for oneself and others.
