Slovak golfer Rory Sabbatini moved eighteen places to Friday’s second place in Friday’s 2nd round of the PGA Tour Wyndham Championship.

With a balance of ten strokes under par, he figures on it together with the Americans Webb Simpson and Scott Piercy. In Greensboro, North Carolina, another home player, Russell Henley, leads, who played fourteen shots under par.

Forty-five-year-old Sabbatini is a recent silver medalist from the Tokyo Olympics. He is fighting for his seventh PGA Tour title and first since March 2011, when he triumphed at the Honda Classic in Florida. For the first time since 2003, after two rounds, he had 130 strokes on his account. He didn’t score a single bogey on Friday.

“My game is going in the right direction, the turning point was probably the final round in Tokyo. I always put too much pressure on myself, I relaxed there and it worked. I take the same approach here, I don’t allow unsuccessful blows so much. It would be wonderful to repeat you win, we’ll see what happens, ” quoted Sabbatini’s AFP agency.

Wyndham Championship – Round 2 standings:

1. Russell Henley (USA) 126/-14,

2. Rory SABBATINI (SR), Webb Simpson, Scott Piercy (both USA) all 130 / -10,

5. Justin Rose (English), Tyler Duncan, Brian Stuard (both USA) all 131 / -9
