World number 2 Rory McIlroy revealed he was injured on Thursday during the first round of the Tour Championship but that didn’t stop him from sending a colossal drive to 14 on Saturday at East Lake!

Lower back pain while swimming in the pool with daughter Poppy, no longer seems to bother Rory McIlroy.

As proof, the gigantic face-off succeeded on Saturday by the Northern Irish on the 14th from East Lake to Atlanta in the last tournament of the season.

His drive on this par 4 of 465 meters came to rest 360 meters from the starting tee. That’s more than 30 meters longer than the second longest face-off of the day!

Despite his 8th place in the standings before the last lap, Rory almost gave up all chances of victory on Saturday by returning a card of 71.

He will certainly not achieve the double in the FedEx Cup a year after his resounding triumph over Scottie Scheffler. At 18 holes from the end of the season, he is indeed 11 shots behind the impressive leader Viktor Hovland.
