TRIBUNNEWS.COM, JAKARTA – DKI Jakarta Provincial Government owns a land area of 24 hectares in TPU Rorotan, Cilincing, North Jakarta. The land is used for a special Covid-19 burial place.
However, until now, only 3 hectares have been used and the plan is to expand it to 10 hectares.
Seeing the addition of Covid-19 cases in DKI Jakarta, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is preparing about 7 hectares for Covid-19 burial grounds.

“Currently, an area of 10 hectares is being prepared to be used as a burial ground for Covid-19 victims,” tribunnews quoted @dkijakarta as saying.
In the process of land maturation, two methods were used, namely dredging of reservoirs around the location such as the JGC reservoir and the Pulomas Reservoir. And the second way is dredging the reservoir which is planned to be built in TPU Rorotan.
Through Tribunnews monitoring in the field, until now TPU Rorotan has used as many as 22 excavators to help disperse the bodies of Covid-19.
“Now we have entered the 7-hectare expansion,” said Hari Nugroho, Head of the DKI Jakarta Marga Agency. Thursday (22/7/2021).
He revealed that the expansion of the land was in view of the Covid-19 pandemic situation, especially in DKI Jakarta.
Hari explained that the land maturation process was carried out in stages for Covid-19 bodies over the next 2 weeks.
He hopes that with the implementation of PPKM Darura, he will be able to suppress coronavirus case thereby reducing the mortality rate, especially in DKI Jakarta.
