According to Roos, some situations that we saw in the program were different in reality. “Everything you saw on television was different in real life,” she says. Roos sometimes still has trouble with certain images that she saw of herself at the time. You can hear the cutting and pasting. But then you think: it all happened anyway, so it must be? Well no. I really didn’t recognize myself on television.”

There are several reasons why she joined the reality show. ”The unknown really appealed to me at the time”, Roos begins. She continues: ”I used to be in relationships and went on vacation with my boyfriend. Now I would go on holiday with a group of friends for the first time. Everything would be arranged, there would be a nice pool and everything was possible. Freedom happiness. Fortunately, the group turned out to be fun, although I had to get used to the cameras.”

Roos is now married to fellow participant Vincent van der Lans. The couple has had two children together. ”I enjoy being at home with the kids and Vincent works for himself as a personal trainer. I’m really happy like that,” she concludes.
