Rooms, a huge gym and food 24 hours a day – Edgars Krūmiņš shows how our Olympians live in Tokyo

The living conditions in the Olympic Village are the same for athletes from all countries, and the organizers of the Games have done everything possible to rule out the spread of the virus in the village. Following the Covid-19 protocol, Olympians and staff are separated into “bubbles.”

The Latvian 3×3 basketball team lives in rooms of two each, with limited opportunities for athletes from other countries, but there is a beautiful view from the balcony and a huge gym, as well as a dining room with an extensive menu for all tastes, including vegetarians.

It has already been reported that the Olympic Games will start on July 24 with an opening ceremony, which will also be attended by 3×3 basketball players, as the team captain Agnis Chavars has been given the honor of being the flag bearer of Latvia. Along Ostapenko, the titled tennis player, will also carry his flag with him, because starting with the Tokyo Olympics, it has been decided to bring the principle of equality to life and two representatives from each country will carry the flag at the opening ceremony – one man and one woman.
