There, the vaccination by the company doctor goes well and is also accepted by the employees, as Welf Kantelhardt from the company’s product and occupational safety department reports on request. For reasons of hygiene, the vaccinations for the Pufas employees are administered in the company doctor’s practice.

“Around 40 percent of employees accept this vaccination offer,” Kantelhardt continues. “There has already been a first round of vaccination with the Astrazeneca vaccine. In teams of eight to ten people, the employees went to the practice at half-hour intervals. ”The same procedure is also planned for the next week with the Biontech vaccine. Most of the remaining employees had already had their first vaccination or at least an appointment.

According to Kantelhardt, impatience only arose for a short time because a few employees had expressed concerns about the Astrazeneca vaccine. “But that relaxed again thanks to the availability of Biontech.”

The vaccination by company doctors started in Lower Saxony in May, initially as a model project in selected companies such as Volkswagen or the pharmaceutical and laboratory supplier Sartorius in Göttingen. The approximately 500 company doctors in the state have been allowed to vaccinate in other companies since June 7th. Doctors obtain the vaccine for this from pharmacies or wholesalers.

Many employees have already been vaccinated. Nevertheless, it is important for Continental to offer its workforce a vaccination, the company continues. “At its location in Hann. Münden a vaccination route was set up. Employees can be safely vaccinated in a separate wing made up of three offices. There is also an observation room for any vaccination reactions. In the future, interested parties will also be able to get vaccinations from the company doctor in their practice, ”explained the ContiTech press office.

In the previous week, those responsible had drawn up a list of those interested in vaccination. First of all, interested parties who work regularly at the plant were given an appointment. In the next step, the employees from the home office would also be invited to the vaccination. For the best possible use of capacities, there is a replacement list “if someone fails or does not want to be vaccinated”, the company continues.
