‘Rookie NYPD Officer Shot in Dispute on MTA Bus Receives Hero’s Welcome’

New York City, NY.- Dozens of police officers greeted Brett Boller with applause and bagpipe musica rookie officer who had been three months after graduating from the academy when he received a bullet in the leg after attending to a dispute which took place in a MTA bus in Jamaica, Queens.

The 22-year-old was admitted to the hospital Jamaica Medical Center since April 5, when the attack took place.

On the day of the incident, Boler saw those involved in the dispute go down, but one of them pulled out a weapon and shot him. The subject fled while Boller’s partner responded to the assault. Days later, this man, identified as Devin Spraggins, was arrested in the Bronx as a suspect and faces charges of attempted murder, assault, criminal possession of a firearm, and obstruction of an investigation.
