The roof of a building in Hamburg’s Neustadt district caught fire during renovation work. A worker complained about health problems after the excitement and was taken to a hospital, the fire department said in the evening. But the fire didn’t hurt anyone.

At the time, no one but the workers was in the building, which the fire department says is to be converted into a hotel. According to the fire brigade, two surrounding hotels had to be evacuated. “Tar work took place on the roof, which caused a roof fire,” said a fire department spokesman. “We warned the population and raised an alarm.” As the NDR reports, an area of ​​about 20 by 30 meters burns. Parts of the roof are therefore also in danger of collapsing.
