A roof fire raged for a short time tonight at a building on the Hoofdstraat in Grootegast.
The Grootegast fire brigade, which was quickly on site, received support from their colleagues from the city of Groningen who came to the scene with the cherry picker. During work on the facade this afternoon, the roof boarding started to smolder. The fire was discovered later this evening and the fire brigade was alerted.
The Salvage Foundation assists the residents in handling the damage.
