The International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS) has named the footballer who has played the most matches in the 21st century. Such a player turned out to be a Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldowho has played 1145 games since the start of his career – 2003.
Note that the second place in this indicator is the legendary Brazilian Dani Alves, and the top three is closed by Argentine striker Lionel Messi. Interestingly, both have the same number of matches: 1033 matches each.
In the top five also Iker Casillas, already retired, and Joao Moutinho.
