Cristiano Ronaldo being called a coward after making an unnecessary tackle on Kevin De Bruyne moment Manchester United defeated by Manchester City in the Premier League, Saturday (6/11).
Eric Bailly’s own goal and Bernardo Silva’s goal ensured Man City’s victory over Man Utd in the Premier League. A victory that makes Man City temporarily move up to second place in the standings with 23 points, 3 points adrift of Chelsea at the top of the standings.
Ronaldo played badly when Man Utd lost to Man City. The Portuguese striker even only touched the ball once in the Man City penalty box throughout the match.
Ronaldo’s poor performance was increasingly under the spotlight after CR7 made an unnecessary tackle on De Bruyne in the 90th minute. A tackle that former Man City player Trevor Sinclair has called cowardly.
“It was a cheap foul. I knew it was a one-footed tackle, but he jumped in and used his lower foot. I thought it was a bit naughty. He was a little frustrated, but it wasn’t okay,” Sinclair said. Daily Metro.
“It was a cowardly tackle. Ronaldo got away with two red cards, this tackle [terhadap De Bruyne] and against Curtis Jones [vs Liverpool]. He’s emotional because he’s a champion. He doesn’t like to lose,” said Sinclair.
Ronaldo tackled De Bruyne with his left foot after the Belgian fell due to a foul by Bruno Fernandes. Referee Michael Oliver then gave Ronaldo a yellow card for his actions.
Sinclair considered Ronaldo’s tackle deserved a red card. Previously, the former Juventus player was said to be lucky not to get a red card when he kicked Liverpool’s Curtis Jones.
