Thousands of posts and views were harvested by a video on social media, its publishers claimed that it shows the Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo watching the world-famous clip of the Algerian sheikh, Walid Mahsas, with a cat on his shoulder while he is praying, and interacting with him.
In the two-part video, the Algerian sheikh appears in prayer before a cat appears on his shoulder, and Ronald appears to be reacting to these scenes.
The accompanying commentary read, “Cristiano publishes a video of the cat… and imam Walid Mahsas.”
However, the claim is incorrect, and the video is a composite, and despite this, the posts garnered thousands of shares and comments on Facebook.
Unofficial account
The video with the “TikTok” logo and the name cristiano.r0nldo is in fact an unofficial account.
The owner of the account stated in the information field on the TikTok website that the account is unofficial, writing “Fan Account”.
And the account holder published the video, reaping more than ten million views, after the sheikh’s fame soared around the world in the past days due to a video showing a cat on his shoulder, which he treats gently, while he was leading congregational prayers in a mosque.
Old video
In addition, searches led to the original version of Ronaldo’s video posted years ago on YouTube.
