Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr lost (1-3) against Al Ittihad, coached by Nuno Espírito Santo, in the semi-finals of the Saudi Super Cup. This is the first defeat for the Portuguese international in his new colors, in two appearances.
A logical victory for Al Ittihad, who relied mainly on counter-attacks and quick transitions against a very disorganized Al Nassrmainly in defense.
Once again wearing the captain’s armband, CR7 tried to be the offensive leader of Al Nassr, but, like in its early days, the team struggled to be sharp.
Alshanqeeti, Romarinho et Hamdallah have scored for the locals, Anderson Talisca for visitors. Apart from a powerful header just before the 2nd goal, Ronaldo was not to his advantage.
Al-Nassr is therefore eliminated from the Saudi Supercup and will seek the title against Al Feiha on Sunday.
