Ronaldo wants to leave, MU is no longer sane in the transfer market

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

Desire Cristiano Ronaldo go in this season make Manchester United so ‘sane’ in the transfer market.

With Ronaldo insisting on leaving for a club that plays in the Champions League, Man Utd need to bring in another striker as a replacement.

The name of the Ajax Amsterdam winger is Erik ten Hag’s main target as a substitute for CR7. According to the Daily Mail journalist, David Kent, in a tweet on Twitter Manchester United agreed the transfer fee of Antony from Ajax.

Personally, Man Utd is said to be willing to spend up to 100 million euros or equivalent to Rp. 1.5 trillion along with other additional variables to bring Antony to Old Trafford.

“BREAKING: MUFC agreed to personal fees and terms verbally for Antony,” wrote David Kent.

“The total value of Antony’s package is €100M (£84M). Both clubs completed a clause in his contract which represents an additional variable, bringing the deal to €100m, including the Ballon D’or nomination,” Kent added.

The deal could be a crazy decision from Manchester United considering the 100 million euro figure because after having doubled in one month.

At the end of June, transfer rumors said the selling price of the Brazilian player was only 50 million euros plus other variables. But on July 20 last, that price jumped to 80 million euros, until now it has increased to 100 million euros.

Apart from Antony, the Red Devils have also been linked with RB Salzburg striker Benjamin Sesko. Former Chelsea striker Diego Costa is also said to be able to join Manchester United on a free transfer.

A number of MU supporters seem to object to the agreement made by the Red Devils. Through social media, the supporters believe that Antony is not worth 100 million euros.

“Ajax raising Antony’s price from €80m to €100m is ridiculous! While I support Ten Hag’s decision, I really hope he moves away from Antony if Ajax don’t lower his fee significantly,” said @UtdFaithfuls.

“Good players but NOT worth the money. Build MU,” said @UtdFaithfuls added.

Other netizens regretted MU’s slow movement in pursuing Antony. According to @KizzieDC1 Antony has an initial tag of 45 million euros.

“They didn’t know the price of the first day, they didn’t ask for it until the end of last month. If they knew Antony’s price was €45 million on the first day and were still negotiating with Ajax, even though now they are crazy. I believe it’s like the Nunez deal, it’s you who gives they’re a price tag,” said @KizzieDC1.
