At the end of his career, soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo’s focus is less on records. “I still enjoy playing football and know that I don’t have much time left on the pitch. The most important thing is not to be considered the best player or to win prizes. The most important thing is to have fun and help the club and the national team,” said the 39-year-old after his Saudi club Al-Nassr’s 2-1 win against Al-Rayyan.
Records have been part of his career and he is used to breaking them. “I felt the pressure from day one and I think I will feel it until the last day,” added Ronaldo, who has not yet decided when to end his career. The Portuguese recently indicated that he wanted to reach the 1,000 goal mark. CR7 currently has 904 hits.
Ronaldo won the Champions League five times with Manchester United and Real Madrid, and he became European champion with Portugal in 2016. The striker is the record goalscorer in the premier class and holds the record for the most international matches and goals. With Portugal he wants to take part in the World Cup finals for the sixth time in 2026.
