Portuguese gunner Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly seeking to return from Juventus to Real Madrid. According to the Spanish daily AS, the 36-year-old player wants to leave Turin due to criticism that came to him after an unexpected elimination in the round of the Champions League with Porto.
Juventus said goodbye to the Champions League after losing the first match in Portugal 1: 2 and on Tuesday at home then defeated the weakened opponent 3: 2 after extra time, but thanks to more goals on the opponent’s field, Porto advanced. And it was Ronaldo who was identified in Italy as the culprit of the elimination, not only by the fans and the media, but allegedly also by the club management.
However, Ronaldo considers it unfair, partly because he scored 27 goals this year for the “Old Lady” in 32 matches. He therefore decided to leave Turin before the end of the contract, and his agent, Jorge Mendes, had allegedly already negotiated with Real.
Ronaldo started for Real from 2009 to 2018 and had a very successful period at the club, winning two titles with him and winning the Champions League four times. A former Manchester United player and five-time Golden Ball holder came to Juventus three years ago in the summer and twice won the Italian league in Turin.
