Ronaldo Giovanelli does not pay condominium and has apartment for auction

The São Paulo Justice auctioned a duplex apartment by Ronaldo Giovanelli, former goalkeeper of the Corinthians. The property, covering 145.5 m², is located in Tatuapé, on the east side of São Paulo.

Ronaldo, according to the lawsuit filed by the Onix building, failed to pay 86 installments of the condominium between November 2011 and March 2019, which adds up to a debt of around R $ 169 thousand (in May 2019 values).

The apartment, in which Ronaldo’s parents live, was appraised by the expert for R $ 950 thousand, but ended up being sold for R $ 613.6 thousand.

The former athlete, now a sports commentator for Band, filed an appeal asking for the auction to be canceled. He claimed that part of the debt has already expired and can no longer be collected. He also said that he did not receive the condominium slips over the months and that there were illegalities in the meetings in which there was an adjustment in the amounts charged.

Ronaldo also questions the expertise that evaluated the apartment at R $ 950 thousand. According to him, the correct amount would be R $ 1.5 million.

The former athlete urged that an injunction be given urgently as the delivery of the apartment to the winner of the auction will have “devastating and irreparable effects on the life of his family”.

“There is no way to give reason to a condominium owner who has owned the property since April 17, 1991, and, when charged in court, he argues that he did not pay for not receiving slips or for lack of calling meetings!” the Justice.

According to the condominium, the slips were sent normally and were available to Ronaldo at the administrator. “The only irregular and objectionable thing is the lack of payment.”
