Ronaldo can ‘push’ Saudi Arabia to change FIFA World Cup statutes

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

Cristiano Ronaldo could push Saudi Arabia to make changes to the statute Fifa regarding the bid to host the 2030 World Cup after joining the Al Nassr club.

Ronaldo has taken the football world by storm by deciding to become an Al Nassr player until 2025 this weekend.

Ronaldo is the biggest signing in the history of Al Nassr, a club that incidentally comes from outside Europe. Quoted from by AbolaThere is a “special” clause in Ronaldo’s deal with Al Nassr.

In the report, it was stated that CR7’s formal partnership with Al Nassr would last until 2025. In addition to being a player, Ronaldo will also become an ambassador for Saudi Arabian sports.

Secretly, Saudi Arabia is said to be keen to compete with other Arab countries, UAE, especially the Dubai area which so far has often been a destination for big sports, one of which is the retreat of top European clubs .

Notably, Ronaldo is likely to be used by Saudi Arabia in their co-hosting campaign for the upcoming 2030 World Cup, alongside Egypt and Greece.

However, plans to co-host the 2030 World Cup are also likely to hit a dead end, because FIFA regulations say it doesn’t allow joint nominations from a confederation.

Meanwhile, co-hosts led by Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Greece include three football confederations: Asia (AFC), Africa (CAF) and Europe (UEFA). The joint candidacy of the three continents or confederations could have been successful if the FIFA statutes had been changed.

So far, a number of countries have plans to host the next 2030 World Cup: Portugal, Spain and Ukraine, as well as Argentina, Uruguay, Chile and Paraguay.
