Cristiano Ronaldo discussing his bitter breakup with Manchester United for the first time. Ronaldo said he was going through the toughest phase of his career.
The Portuguese football superstar left United for the second time last November. The Red Devils must terminate Ronaldo’s contract more quickly in the aftermath of the controversial interview he conducted with Piers Morgan. On the talk show, Ronaldo openly criticized manager Erik ten Hag and a number of the club’s decisions.
Ronaldo himself did not get much sympathy after the interview. The reason is, the 38-year-old striker previously also carried out a series of disciplines, one of which was refusing instructions to enter as a substitute.
After leaving Old Trafford, Cristiano Ronaldo increasingly difficult to get interested in the European elite. The former Real Madrid and Juventus star also parted ways with his agent, Jorge Mendes, before finally accepting the proposal Al Nasser from Saudi Arabia.
Ronaldo has scored nine goals and two assists in 10 appearances for Al Nassr. The 38-year-old striker was again relied on by Portugal under the leadership of coach Roberto Martinez.
“Sometimes you have to go through things to see who is on my side,” Ronaldo was quoted as saying M.E.N. “I have no problem saying I’ve had a crappy career, but there’s no time for regrets.”
“Life continues, successful or not, it’s part of my development,” continued the five-time world best player.
“When we’re on top of a mountain, we often can’t see what’s below. Now I’m more prepared and the lesson is important, because I’ve never experienced it, like in the last few months. Now I’m a better person,” Ronaldo add.
