Nine months after joining Cruzeiro Belo Horizonte, former Brazilian football star Ronaldo managed to return to the Brazilian first division with the traditional club.
With a 3-0 win over Vasco da Gama, Cruzeiro made the promotion perfect. “This is the icing on our cake. We will celebrate for a few days and then we will think about next year, “Ronaldo told SportTV.

According to local media, the world champion from 1994 to 2002 had acquired nearly 90 percent of the shares for 400 million reais, the equivalent of around 79 million euros, in December 2021. Three-time world footballer Ronaldo has started his career with Cruzeiro in 1993 and 1994 before moving to Europe and starting his world career with PSV Eindhoven. He then played for FC Barcelona, Inter, Real Madrid and Milan.
