Ronaldo about Solskjær and the United chaos:

Watch Aston Villa-Manchester United on TV 2 Sport Premium and Play from kl. 18.00 on Saturday.

The embarrassing 1-4 loss to Watford on 20 November 2021 was Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s last as manager of Manchester United.

In a great interview, Cristiano Ronaldo talks about the farewell of the Christian miracle.

– He is a fantastic person and when he had to leave it was sad. It does not always go the way the club or the fans want, and then changes are needed. For me it was disappointing, but at the same time we have to understand the club and those who run it. It was difficult, but life goes on, says Ronaldo.

In came Ralf Rangnick. The German who was to enchant United fans with his so-called “counter-pressure” and his offensive approach to football.

Although the results have been livable, Manchester United have in no way impressed on the turf under their new boss.

– It is twisted when you change too much. It is always challenging, but I still think we have what it takes to have a good season. We were aware that it would take time to change as the new coach wants, but we are professionals, says United’s number seven.

Rangnick has led Manchester United in seven games in three tournaments. The result is four wins, two draws and two losses.

Nor in front of goal has it loosened for Ronaldo and Co. In the seven matches, eight goals have been scored.

– We know that we are not at our best now, but we are working hard to achieve success this season. We must stick together and I think that is the key. Now it’s a new year, we know it takes time to make big changes, but I am convinced that we have what it takes, says the Portuguese national team captain.

Ronaldo believes Rangnick needs time to help reverse the bad trend at the club.

– He arrived five weeks ago and has already changed a lot. He needs time to reach the players with his ideas, but I think he will do a good job. We know for ourselves that what we have achieved has not been good enough, but we have many struggles to improve. Since he came, we’re gotten a little better at some things, but like I said, it’s going to take time. It is not easy to change the culture and mentality of the players, the 36-year-old explains.

The first chance to show themselves from a better side is in Saturday’s Premier League match against Aston Villa, the team they struggled to a 1-0 victory against on Monday.
