Joao Mendes de Assis Moreira is reported to be joining Barcelona after undergoing trials. He is the son of a Brazilian football legend, Ronaldinho.
Ronaldinho, who revealed the news to RAC1. The 42-year-old admits he will spend more time at Barcelona as his son will join the club after impressing in trials.
Joao is currently a Cruzeiro player. His journey in Barcelona will start from the age group.
Joao has also got a Spanish passport. At almost 18 years of age, he is still in a developmental phase and has never been called up to strengthen the Brazilian National Team for the age group.
AS stated that Joao could play as a forward or attacking midfielder, was strong with both feet, and was described as a skilled player.
Ronaldinho himself has appeared for Barcelona 207 times while he was an active player, scored 94 goals and made 70 assists.
Ronaldinho ended his time at Barca with a long list of individual and collective accolades. The 2005 FIFA Ballon d’Or, FIFA Men’s Player of the Year in 2004 and 2005, 2 La Liga titles, 2 Spanish Super Cups and the 2006 Champions League are the list of titles won.
