Ronald Koeman give praise to the new players Barcelona. This is what the Dutch coach said about Sergio Aguero, Eric Garcia and Memphis Depay.

Sergio Aguero be one of Barcelona’s new signings this summer. The Argentine striker was brought to Camp Nou on a free transfer after his contract with Manchester City expired at the end of June.

Barcelona signed Aguero after last summer releasing Luis Suarez to Atletico Madrid. Aguero is tied to a contract until June 2023.

Aguero is not the only free player Barcelona has brought in from Manchester City. Blaugrana also return Eric Garcia, who was once part of the Barcelona academy.

“Sergio Aguero is an important signing because we have to make improvements in front of goal,” Koeman told Barca TV as reported by Marca.

“He is an experienced player and very dangerous in the box. He has to be in the right physical condition, and we want him to be in the best condition for us.”

“(Eric Garcia) was good at Euro 2020. He is an upbringing player and even though he is young, he is experienced.”

“He plays in a position where I have a lot of experience so I can focus more on his performance. He is good on the ball so we can improve in that area and he has a great future.”

Barcelona also recruit Memphis Depay from Lyon. Just like Sergio Aguero and Eric Garcia, Depay was also brought in for free, aka free transfer.

“(Memphis Depay), he knows how I work and he is a player with a lot of character. He is strong, fast, he brings a lot of things,” continued Koeman.

“He can play anywhere up front and he’s in the golden period of his career. He’s developed a lot at Lyon and he’s got experience as captain,” said Koeman.

Join Barcelona, Memphis Depay reunites with Ronald Koeman. The two of them worked together when Koeman handled the Dutch national team in 2018-2020.
