TRIBUNNEWS.COM – New trainer Barcelona, Ronald Koeman, has decided the fate of three senior players and all three have the potential to leave Camp Nou.
Barcelona has officially appointed Ronald Koeman as the new coach to replace Quique Setien.
Koeman’s appointment comes days after Barcelona’s embarrassing 2-8 defeat to Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
In addition to expelling Quique Setien, Barcelona also fired Eric Abidal, who incidentally was the club’s sporting director.
The appointment of Koeman as the new coach is the first step for the runner-up Spanish League 2019-2020 is to restructure the club.
Overhaul of the main squad has been declared by Koeman as a form of regeneration.
There are only seven players who will be retained, namely Marc-Andre Ter Stegen, Clement Lenglet, Frenkie de Jong, Nelson Semedo, Ousmane Dembele, Antoine Griezmann, and the captain Lionel Messi.
As reported by BolaSport.com from the US, this number will potentially increase to eight as Koeman plans to retain senior defender Gerard Pique.
