Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – The Dutch Football Association announced, on Monday, the appointment of Ronald Koeman as coach of the national team until 2026, to succeed his compatriot Louis van Gaal, who left the team after exiting the quarter-finals in the World Cup. The past, which was held in Qatar, was played by the Argentine national team.
And the Football Association in the Netherlands revealed, through its accounts on social media, that Koeman had returned to lead the “mills,” and commented, “Welcome back, our mission begins today.”
The 59-year-old coach will lead his country in Euro 2024 and the 2026 World Cup.
Ronald Koeman supervised the technical duties of the Netherlands national team between 2018 and 2020, during which he led the team to reach the European Nations League final in 2019, but lost the title to Portugal.
