The new talent of Lisbon “Sporting” Pedru Gonzalves will join the Portuguese men’s national team in the final tournament of the European Football Championship, the leader of which will be the superstar Christian Ronaldo, the team’s coach Fernándo Santušs has announced. Ronald’s current European championship has scored 103 goals, six less than the current world record for Iranian player Ali Dae.
The 22-year-old Gonzalez, with 23 goals, helped Sporting win the first title of Primeira Liga in Portugal’s highest football league since 2002. The team also includes the experienced Pepe, although the athlete has not played for the Portuguese national team since last October.
Portuguese footballers will start the European Championship final in Group F on June 15 with a match in Budapest against Hungary, on June 19 in Munich the Portuguese will play against Germany, and on June 23 in Budapest they will compete against the 2016 Championship final against France.
