Chairman of the PPP Advisory Council M Romahurmuziy or Rommy said PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto have invited the PPP to form a coalition. He said Hasto had met him.
“Yesterday Mas Hasto met with me, he repeated his invitation to PPP to join and form a coalition with PDIP,” Rommy said in the program ‘Adu Perspectives: Dilemmas of Coalitions, Election Fate and Jokowi’s Substitute’ which was broadcast detikcomWednesday (8/3/2023).
Rommy admits that he has not only been invited to form a coalition with PDIP once. He said PDIP and PPP had a long history of togetherness.
“Yes, he invited and it’s not the first time, because when the chairman (PPP) Mr. Suharso, Plt, Mr. Suharso was also invited. And I also happened to accompany Mr. Suharso too and the narrative that Mas Hasto built was always clear, that this was a mandate from Mbah Maimun we have long experience, because PPP was born by NU, PNI has always been with NU, PDIP also has a history with PPP Mega-Hamzah, and now in Central Java Ganjar-Yasin, even that is Mbah Maimun’s son, so the party segments don’t intersect. complement each other,” said Rommy.
“People may not like PDIP, but its representatives, so let the association be religiosity because this nation was built on 2 pillars, nationalism and religiosity,” he added.
According to him, there is nothing wrong if PPP joins PDIP. However, currently PPP is still weighing it because PDIP has not yet confirmed who its presidential candidate will be and PPP is already in the United Indonesia Coalition (KIB).
“In my opinion, in this context it is not counterproductive if the coalition is with the PDIP, because history has existed for so long. Even by Mbah Maimun’s own son, so if today we join in accepting the PDIP’s invitation, of course we will first discuss this with KIB or not, because we are still on KIB. Second, who is your presidential candidate, if it’s Ganjar presidential candidate, is KIB okay or not? Mr. Zul (Zulkifli Hasan) is definitely okay, Mr. Airlangga is okay or not? If it’s okay, we’re talking about who is the vice presidential candidate, because we don’t know whether Ganjar really wasn’t nominated by the PDIP ,” Rommy said.
