On Wednesday, the presidency unanimously approved the councillor’s recommendation to enter into cooperation with Eidsvoll municipality on emergency services and 24-hour services for municipal immediate help (KØH) located at Vilberg health park.
The current agreement with the host municipality Ullensaker is terminated.
Hurdal, Ullensaker, Gjerdrum and Nannestad have since 2017 had an inter-municipal collaboration for the emergency room and KØH located at the LHL hospital at Jessheim. Eidsvoll and Nes have always had their own local emergency room.
Saves 500,000
Hurdal municipality is involved in several intermunicipal companies and has reviewed these to see if they run their tasks in the most cost-effective way possible.
– The service offered in Ullensaker and in Eidsvoll is comparable and will be an equally good offer for the inhabitants of Hurdal. Hurdal municipality will by entering into an agreement with Eidsvoll get an annual saving of about 500,000 kroner, writes councilor Kjetil Kokkim in the case presentation.
In addition, he points out that a collaboration with Eidsvoll municipality will open up other collaboration arenas such as the municipal chief physician, intoxication and mental health.
Benefit for both
In Eidsvoll, the main committee has said yes to the cooperation and the agreement, and the presidency will probably do the same on Tuesday. The case is going to the municipal council in both municipalities.
Eidsvoll councilor Knut Haugestad believes that a collaboration between the two municipalities on emergency services / KØH should be an advantage for both parties.
– Hurdal municipality will be able to come up with a satisfactory solution for lower annual expenses than today, and the availability of emergency services / KØH will be somewhat better. Eidsvoll municipality, for its part, will achieve somewhat greater security to be able to staff the emergency room with qualified nurses and doctors at all times, as you have both municipalities to draw on, in addition to part of the expenses covered by Hurdal municipality, writes Haugestad in his case presentation.
