Mauricio Pochettino did not hide his displeasure on Saturday when he noted that with less than two weeks before the closing of the summer transfer market, Chelsea have still not found a solution for Romelu Lukaku. The Belgium international is back at Stamford Bridge after a season on loan at Inter, but his future is unsettled. A situation which, as the Blues coach pointed out, also depends on him.
“Both sides are to blame. We cannot only blame the club for this situation. It is the business of both parties. The situation is what it is because of the fault of both parties”, he began, in remarks taken up by the British television channel BBC Sport.
“The situation is what it is and we cannot change it. We were informed, before signing, of the situation of each player, and now we have the squad that we have. I think it’s very clear, nothing has changed. If there is anything to report, the club will report it,” he added.
