Roma and Chelsea have reached an agreement for the transfer of Romelu Lukaku. The Belgian striker will join Roma on loan for a fee of 5 million euros.
Lukaku has flown to Rome since Tuesday (29/8). His arrival was greeted by thousands of Roma fans at the airport.
Lukaku then immediately underwent medical tests at Villa Stuart. According to transfer specialist journalist Fabrizio Romano, Lukaku has signed his contract on Wednesday (30/8).
Lukaku has also trained at Roma’s training center in Trigoria. Through photos circulating on social media, it was revealed that he would wear the number 90 jersey in Rome.
According to the Italian Football report, Roma will officially announce Lukaku’s transfer on Thursday (31/8). The 30-year-old striker is also likely to be introduced in front of the fans when Roma host AC Milan on Friday (1/9) local time.
However, Roma supporters still have to wait longer to see Lukaku debut. The Sports Gazette reports that Lukaku is likely to make his debut after the international break.
Romelu Lukaku it took roughly three weeks to be ready to play after more than two months not training with the Chelsea first team. His last match was on June 20 with the Belgian national team.
