Romelu Lukaku Ready to Take Pay Cut to Leave Chelsea for Inter Milan: Transfer Updates

Romelu Lukaku is reportedly set to take a pay cut to leave Chelsea this summer window and sign for Inter Milan.

His time in Italy was not perfect as injuries played a part, but he still managed to score 14 goals for the Italians and help them reach the Champions League final where they lost to Man City.

It is widely believed that he does not want to return to the club, that he would prefer to stay in Italy, and the Italians are in talks over another deal with the Blues.

Now, amid all the speculation and rumours, it has been claimed that Lukaku is ready to take a pay cut to seal his departure from Stamford Bridge.

Paul Gilmour of Sky Sports: “As of today, there is still no agreement between Chelsea and Inter Milan for any possible permanent move of Romelu Lukaku. Chelsea are not interested in another loan.

“We have learned that Lukaku is willing to take a pay cut of nearly £1m a year to move to Inter.

There has been interest from Saudi Arabia and Juventus have held talks with Chelsea, but Lukaku prefers to stay at Inter and that will be a show of willingness on his part, a commitment as such.

“The reason why this week is so key is that Mauricio Pochettino has said that if Lukaku is still a Chelsea player when international players return, he would like to meet Lukaku in London.

“It is believed that this is all related to raising some money. At the moment, Inter feel they can muster an offer worth £35m, which is nowhere near Chelsea’s valuation. There has not been a satisfactory offer.

Will Lukaku go?

Look, there are two places he could go, Inter Milan and Saudi Arabia, so Chelsea should just take him off the books, he clearly doesn’t want to stay.
