Romelu Lukaku make a fuss Chelsea in an interview some time ago. The Belgian striker will be punished by the club in the form of a fine.
Lukaku made a scene through his interview with Sky Sports a few weeks ago. The 28-year-old admitted that he was not happy at Chelsea.
Recruited from Inter Milan For 115 million euros in the transfer market last summer, Lukaku admitted that he did not fit Chelsea’s style of play. He himself has only made 7 goals for the Blues.
In addition, Lukaku admitted that he regretted leaving Inter. The player who had defended West Bromwich Albion, Everton and Manchester United also initially hoped to move to Barcelona or Real Madrid.
That comment makes the manager Thomas Tuchel angry, to park it in the game against Liverpool. After the commotion, Lukaku apologized.
On Tuesday (4/1/2022), Lukaku expressed his apology for his words. Tuchel himself accepted it, but insisted there would still be sanctions imposed.
Tuchel made sure Lukaku would be fined as a consequence of his speech. The player is asked to accept it with open arms.
“Obviously there will be disciplinary action and he will accept it,” Tuchel said, as reported by The Athletic.
“It happened and it’s not a small thing. But it’s not the biggest thing and a comeback is not impossible. This is what we (will) prove now. But, something happened. He will be fined and of course he has to accept it,” he said.
According to reports, Lukaku will be fined Chelsea amounting to 417 thousand pounds or around Rp 8.1 billion. This is not the first time Lukaku has felt a fine of this magnitude.
In 2019, Romelu Lukaku was also fined Manchester United 400 thousand pounds. The reason, he missed training.
