Roma captain Lorenzo Pellegrini visited the Pediatric Emergency Department of the San Camillo Forlanini Hospital in Rome this morning, on the occasion of “World Children’s Rights Day”. In addition to Pellegrini, there was also the Giallorossi footballer Camelia Ceasar and a delegation from the club made up of the Chief of Financial Planning & Controlling Annamaria Rabuano and the AS Roma stadium project institutional relations manager Lucia Bernabè. Thanks to the support of AS Roma and the contribution of the stakeholders of the Giallorossi Community Network, the interior of the pediatric emergency room of the Roman hospital was affected by a restyling operation of the environments, with the aim of making the impact less traumatic for small hospitalized patients.
Present were Narciso Mostarda, General Director of the San Camillo Forlanini Hospital, the creator of the project Luca Mari, head of the hospital’s Psychology-Consulting and Liaison Service, and the street artist Lucamaleonte, author of the murals that from today embellish the Pediatric ED. The delegation visited the clinic whose walls were enriched by a storytelling inspired by an “enchanted forest” created by the artist, already the author of numerous murals dedicated to prominent personalities of the city of Rome.
The walls of the emergency room have been embellished with trees and other small hidden details, such as animals and elements that recall classic fairy tales, almost transforming the design into a treasure hunt to distract and make time pass more quickly. The function, therefore, is twofold: transforming a place by making it more welcoming and at the same time creating a moment of escape for the patient during moments of waiting. The redevelopment initiative also involved the “Listening Room”, a protected space for minors who are victims of abuse or involved in judicial proceedings. In this environment, in addition to working on the walls, the purchase of furniture and toys was planned to make the passage of patients through the hospital more peaceful and delicate. Lorenzo Pellegrini and Camelia Ceasar, together with the delegation, also visited the pediatric department, donating some balls with the logo of the Capital team, as well as many smiles and moments of true leisure to the hospitalized children.
